Virginia Tech brings an improved offensive line to the table which has Hokies camp expecting a big season on the ground out of star tailback Branden Ore. We can expect him to carry the Hokies on his back until QB Sean Glennon can show that costly mistakes won’t be a normal part of his play. With such a solid running attack projected this season, Glennon’s job should be much easier as teams will have to try to stack the line to shut off Ore. A rather friendly schedule should have the Hokies capturing a Coastal division title this season.

Georgia Tech will get along way with a stellar defense and special teams units, but an untested QB and lack of offensive weaponry keeps the Jackets from a title this season. If only Calvin Johnson were still around to help out QB Taylor Bennett.

The Miami Hurricanes will continue to disappoint their spoiled fans this season. Miami’s offense has been less than good as it is, but with this team now under its third coordinator in as many seasons, we can expect more struggles on that side of the pigskin. This offenses’ lack of consistency will negate many of the great games the defense plays this season. I like head man Randy Shannon and I think he’s the right guy to get the ’canes back in the national spotlight, eventually.

Virginia has a gem in QB Jameel Sewell. He can run it and he can throw it, kind of like a guy just to the west by the name of Pat White. But Sewell has no wide outs and unproven backs to work with. Sewell joins Iowa State’s Brett Meyer as talented Q’s with not enough help around them. It’s just going to be another rebuilding year for the Cavs.

If anybody can put a winning product on the field, it’s head man Butch Davis. But I wish him the best of luck in 2007 as no blue chip athletes on the offensive and defensive lines will kill his plans of success. What’s the good news? The youngsters will be gaining experience I suppose. The Bad news is obvious and when that’s the case, you know you’re in for a long season.

QB Thaddeus Lewis and the entire starting offense return. In other words, the Blue Devils return a unit that is far less talented than any other in the league. These boys must deal with a current 20-game losing streak and the continued media attention that it receives. Duke was better in 2006, losing two games by one point and another by just five, but another winless season is very likely.
