2007 AFC North
The Baltimore Ravens ran away with the AFC North last season and they are our favorite to win the league once again, although we can expect a strong push from the Bengals. The Steelers will have a transition year under a new head man and offensive coordinator and the Browns will find their familiar spot in the AFC North basement.

1st Place – Baltimore Ravens – The league’s best defense returns and gives this team the edge in the AFC North. This team, which waltzed through the regular season a year ago, has one thing on their mind — the Super Bowl. Billick will have the most talented offense he’s ever had this season, but he’s up against the clock as the window for opportunity is quickly closing on his veteran stars. Another AFC North title, but another disappointing postseason performance likely looms.
2nd Place – Cincinnati Bengals – Perhaps no offense in football is more complete, talented, and potent. If the same was the case on the defensive side of the football and if off-the-field problems weren’t an issue, you could chalk the Bengals up for a trip to the big one. The Bengals have had three 8-8 seasons in the last five years, but they get over that mark in 2007 and likely reach 10 wins. If this team makes the playoffs, which we feel they will, their big play offense gives them a chance to knock off a higher seed.
3rd Place – Pittsburgh Steelers – Steelers fans probably think things can’t get any worse than last year’s 8-8 campaign. How quickly a Super Bowl win makes you forget just a six-win year in 2003. The Steelers will go through a transition period with a new head coach and offensive coordinator and with an aging defense, this team is soon going to have to rebuild on the side of the ball that has been their staple. This team likely takes a small step backwards before moving forward again. Get ready for a year of disappointment Steelers fans, but it will be short lived as most of the pieces are in place.
4th Place – Cleveland Browns – The Cleveland Cavaliers gave the good sports fans of Cleveland something to cheer about this season and the Cleveland Indians have put themselves in a good position to win their division. But the Cleveland Browns are the one team in this city that just can’t seem to get things turned around. Their nine-win season in 2002 seems impossibly forever ago after four straight years of six or fewer wins. But hope has arrived in the arm of QB Brady Quinn and the power of blue-chip offensive line tackle Joe Thomas. Neither of these guys are used to losing programs and hopefully they’ll bring a winning attitude to this storied franchise soon.
