2007 AFC South Odds

The Indianapolis Colts will run away with the AFC South again in 2007. The defending Super Bowl champions are the best team in this division by far and will be one of the top three teams in the AFC this season. The Texans and Titans have more holes in their starting lineups than just about any other teams in the league, and the Jaguars do not have enough offensive fire power nor have they shown the offensive consistency to hang with the Colts. I have the Titans and Texans both chalked up for sub .500 seasons and the Jags to record just nine wins this year. That should give the Colts at least a three-game cushion in the division so we won’t think twice about playing Indy at 1/3 odds as listed at Bodog.

As long as the Colts have Peyton Manning, a host of talented receivers, and a strong offensive line, this team will enjoy several more seasons at the top of the AFC South in our estimation. Even when Indy’s defense struggled in 2006, the offense was still able to outscore its opponents and we can expect the defense to be better in 2007.

For as much of a shoe-in as the Colts are in our opinion after weighing schedules, personnel, and scheme, these 1/3 odds are looking pretty good.
