2007 AFC South
The Indianapolis Colts have won four consecutive AFC South Division titles and have tallied four straight seasons of 12 or more wins. They are clearly the class of this division. The rest of the division is weak with Jacksonville needing offensive improvements, Tennessee needing help on both sides of the ball, and Houston still needing more time. Here’s how we have the AFC South Division shaping up in 2007.

1st Place – Indianapolis Colts – The Colts will run away with the South again in 2007, but they lose too many pieces on defense to challenge for another Super Bowl. Their nemesis, New England, will likely edge them out this time around. Peyton Manning and the offense will still provide fireworks on a weekly basis giving the Indy fans another season to be proud of.
2nd Place – Jacksonville Jaguars – After a great 12-win season in 2005, the Jags fell four games in the loss column to put head coach Jack Del Rio in a must win position in 2007. The Jags possess one of the best defenses in all of football with amazing depth, but their offense is clearly not high powered enough to compete with the elite teams across the AFC. QB Byron Leftwich must stay healthy and Matt Jones must emerge into a go-to guy for the Jags to get back into the postseason.
3rd Place – Tennessee Titans – Vince Young was indeed the magic man in last season wowing the NFL with never before seen skill and leading the Titans to a miraculous 8-8 season — a major stride from a four-win campaign in ‘05. However, with the departure of tailback Travis Henry and with the team not bringing in a playmaking wideout, the offense is sure to suffer. Football is the ultimate team game, and a one man show in Tennessee is not going to get it done.
4th Place – Houston Texans – The Texans decided that David Carr was not their man and made Matt Schaub their QB of the future. This move looks okay in theory but Schaub is still a question mark and he still must deal with the same porous offensive line that Carr had to deal with. Ahman Green in my opinion is a pathetic attempt to sell some more tickets as opposed to finding an up and coming back. He has as much of a chance at producing behind this offensive line as I do. The defense showed some major improvement last season and the Titans have drafted well on this side of the ball. This team still just needs more time to develop.
