2007 AFC West Odds
With San Diego’s coaching staff being dismantled, this AFC West race gets a little closer than it would have been otherwise, as now I feel that Denver has the best staff in this division, but the Chargers are still the most talented team in the West on both sides of the ball and they’ll get our money this season.

No other team in the AFC West boasts an All-Pro backfield. Phillip Rivers showed glimpses of brilliance last season. Now, heading into his second full year as the starter, we can expect his confidence to grow even more. LaDainian Tomlinson needs no introduction. This do-it-all tailback was the MVP of the NFL last season. He can run inside, outside, catch passes, and throw passes. Teams prepare for this guy week in and week out and it does them absolutely no good as he ruins game plans.
Defensively the Chargers were ferocious last season, bring more heat to opposing QBs than any other team in the league. These guys are just more talented and have more speed than their opposition.
Adjusting to a new staff may cost this team a couple games, but it won’t be enough to keep them from another AFC West title in 2007.
Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades so the Denver Broncos probably aren’t even worth mentioning. But I at least want to assure fans that the Rocky Mountain boys will be back in the postseason in 2007. The way we see it, after weighing the schedules, the Broncos could get within one game of the Chargers but will likely be two games behind in the final standings. Bringing in Travis Henry to run the football and Dre Bly to shore up one of the best secondaries in the league will get this team back on the right track, but we still feel that Jay Cutler has a few bumps and bruises ahead in his first full season as starter.
We’ll take the San Diego Chargers at 2/3 odds as listed at Bodog to win the AFC West in 2007. Talent still wins ball games and it will make sure that San Diego ends up at the top.
