Jamie Dixon and his Pittsburgh basketball team experienced a really effective regular season in 2010-11. Despite playing a tough Big East schedule the team ended up with a 15-3 record in Big East play.  They earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament due to their 28-6 overall record. The Panthers defeated Connecticut handily in the final regular season game, but were beat by the Huskies by a couple of points in the Big East tournament.
