So how exactly do college football lines work?  Some of you may know that these are also called point spreads or odds, but it's all the same thing.  First of all the books set a number, this is how many points they feel the favorite is going to beat the underdog by.  Let's take a look at an example:

Team A -5
Team B +5

Now the books think that team A is going to win by 5 points.  If you think Team A is going to win by more then you are going to place your wagers on that side, but if you don't think they are going to win by more than 5, or if you think Team B is going to win then you will want to take the points.
